在一些重大的场合，列如公司会议，我们会提前把手机调成振动，但手机振动不能用shake，知道为什么吗 ？

你手机在震动 ≠

Your phone is shaking.

我们常常使用shake，导致一出现震动立马想到shake。shake是指大幅度的晃动，不能用于手机这种微振动。手机震动我们可以用：

• buzz：形容蜜蜂嗡嗡的声音，由于手机振动的声音像蜜蜂的声音，所以日常生活中也能用来表明手机振动。
• vibrate：指振动、颤动的意思。
• 振动模式：vibrate mode

eg：

The phone had already clicked down, leaving a faint buzz.

Turn your cell phone to vibrate mode or turn it off when the speech begins.

玩手机 ≠

play the phone

“踢足球”play football，”弹钢琴”paly the piano，但玩手机不能用play，由于当你说”play the phone”，老外会想你到底是”踢手机”还是”弹手机”？

“玩手机”英语的正确表达：

• spend time on the phone
• play with phone
• play on the phone

eg：

Nowadays, many young people spend too much time on their phone.

手机没电 ≠

My phone no electricity.

手机玩久了就会没电，没电时感觉没安全感，而且还焦虑不安，这时不要直接说”My phone no electricity.”，这是中式英语表达。

“手机没电”正确表达有以下几种：

My phone is out of juice.

我的手机没电了 。

My phone is dead.

我的手机没电了 。

My phone’s battery is about to run out.

我手机电池耗尽啦。

“手机欠费” ≠

My phone has no money.

今天又到了扣月租的日子，当电话卡里的钱不够扣时就会欠费，那么”手机欠费”的英文表达是run out of credit。

My cellphone ran out of credit.
