stop doing sth与 stop to do sth辨析

Notice the difference between stop doing something and stop to do something We stopped taking pictures means ‘We were no longer taking pictures.’; We stopped to take pictures means ‘We stopped what we were doing so that we could start taking pictures.’

stop doing sth （If you stop doing something at a particular time, you no longer do it after that time.）停止正在做的事情，即表明你不再做那件事情了。

你可以说'how do you stop a tap dripping ?' or 'how do you stop a tap from dripping ?'

类似的词还有cease sth与cease to do sth ，cease sth指cease后面不跟动词原形，要跟名词,指某事不再继续做了。cease to do sth中，cease跟to do结构，某事不再继续做了。
